in 在…里面：in the middle of the town（镇中心）。
next to 紧挨着：the library is next to the park（图书馆紧挨公园）。
between A and B 在两者之间：my school is between the cinema and the bank。
in front of / behind 前面/后面：the garden is in front of the house, the trees are behind it。
near 附近：the swimming pool is near the station。

① 家是 home 还是 house：I live in a house（具体房子）；I'm going home（家，不加 to、不加 the）。"我家在…"说 My home is in...。

③ opposite ≠ next to：opposite 是"对面"（隔着路），next to 是"紧挨"（连着墙）。The bank is opposite the cinema（银行在电影院对面）。

论there be 三兄弟：is / are / was / were
现在：There is a park. / There are two trees.（现在有）
过去：There was a small shop. / There were fields.（以前有）——was 配单数，were 配复数。
否定：There wasn't any supermarket. / There weren't any cinemas.（没有）
疑问：Was there a cinema? / Were there any shops?（有…吗）
考点：看到 ten years ago / in the past → 用 there was/were；看到 now → 用 there is/are。KET 完形专考这个时间对应。
