Having wandered through twelve rooms without once looking at the paintings, our guide finally stopped. Seen from the entrance, the installation looked like nothing more than a pile of broken chairs. Most visitors, having glanced at it, move on, she said, missing the point entirely. The lights dimmed, a recording began. Having sat through ten minutes of static, I was about to leave when the image emerged. It was a film about the factory that once stood here, its windows facing the very wall we now leaned against. The guide, having spent ten years restoring the building, knew every crack. Art, she remarked, is not the object on the wall. Having said that, she gestured toward the street outside. The weather being perfect, the crowd drifted toward the square, where a musician was playing. It struck me then that the gallery real masterpiece was the city itself.

C1 写法（分词压缩）：Having wandered through twelve rooms, our guide finally stopped. / Having sat through ten minutes of static, I was about to leave.

升级点 1 — 完成式分词：Having + 过去分词表示先于主句动作完成，= After I had...。

升级点 2 — 被动分词：Seen from the entrance, it looked like a pile... = When it was seen...（主语 it 与 see 是被动关系）。

语法延展 · 分词结构与独立主格

Participle Clauses & Absolute Phrases
C1 用分词把次要信息压缩成状语，让句子更紧凑、更学术。完成式分词表先于，被动分词表被，独立主格自带主语。最忌悬垂修饰——分词主语必须和主句主语一致（除非独立主格）。

最高频陷阱

① 悬垂修饰是大忌：❌ Walking down the street, the gallery looked big. → ✅ Walking down the street, I saw the gallery。

② 完成式分词主语要一致：Having spent ten years, she knew it well。

③ 独立主格自带主语，不悬垂：The weather being fine 是自带主语。

考试怎么考：Part 4：After I had finished, I left → Having finished, I left；When it is seen from afar → Seen from afar, it...。

Whereas the first painting celebrates abundance, the second questions emptiness: a single chair in an empty room. What strikes me is how the artist, far from being merely sad, seems to invite reflection. The contrast could not be more marked—one welcomes, the other asks us to sit with silence.
